Yvonne De Carlo - How do we love thee let us count the ways.

Yvonne De Carlo had a career in film and television spanning six decades.  She was the recipient of not one but two stars on the Hollywood Boulevard walk of fame one for her contribution to the film industry and the second for her contribution to television.

De Carlo was reputedly an intimate of Howard Hughes and played opposite some of the most desirable and bankable leading men in the Hollywood of the 1940s and 50s including But Lancaster and Charlton Heston.  She was a glamorous pin up girl who helped raise the morale of troops in the second world war but to most people she will forever be remembered as Lilly Munster in the 1960s monster comedy series.

All of these achievements, appearances and accolades, however fail to underscore the most obvious attribute Yvonne De Carlo possessed in abundance and that is that in her prime, which lasted quite a while, she was smoking hot.

Even though the Munsters only ran 2 seasons (70 episodes) she will forever be associated with the role of Lilly Munster. And why not?  That role was the embodiment of chic Gothic sex appeal which De Carlo simply oozed effortlessly.  Oh to have been a door to door salesman visiting 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

De Carlo's long career won her many admirers and she was working well into her autumn years all be it in cameo roles.

We, however, prefer to remember her in the full flower of her youth and the peak of her considerable charms:
